Tras el terremoto del 25 de abril de 2015 que devastó Nepal, el país, símbolo mundial de la espiritualidad y del turismo de montaña, busca mirar hacia delante. "Rising Nepal" muestra ese renacer tras la catástrofe a través de sus protagonistas, seres humanos que superaron el miedo y el sufrimiento y se entregaron a la esperanza. Dos hermanos ciegos (Sushil y Basudev Adhikari), el propietario de una escuela de cocina en Katmandú (Debendra Pokharel) y su madre, una estudiante (Dechen Tamang) del desaparecido valle de Langtang y su padre Sherpa, y un monje tibetano (el Maestro Gelek Samdup), supervivientes todo ellos al terremoto, nos ofrecen con la cercanía de la tragedia de fondo, una profunda reflexión sobre el sentido de la vida y la trascendencia.

After the earthquake on 25th April 2015, which devastated Nepal, the country, a global symbol of spirituality and mountain tourism, strives to move forward. ´Rising Nepal´ shows that revival after the catastrophe through its main characters, human beings who overcame fear and suffering and devoted themselves to hope. Two blind brothers (Sushil and Basudev Adhikari), the owner of a cookery school in Kathmandu (Debendra Pokharel) and his mother, a student (Dechen Tamang) from the missing Langtang valley and his Sherpa father, as well as a Tibetan monk (Master Gelek Samdup), all of them survivors of the earthquake, offer us, through the proximity of the tragedy in the background, a deep reflection on the meaning of life and its significance.
