En 2007, el cineasta Oliver Laxe decidió trasladarse a vivir a Marruecos en busca, según sus propias palabras, de una mayor comunión con la vida, y tratando de hallar inspiración artística en la generosidad, sensualidad y también en la crueldad delaciudad de Tánger. Al poco de su llegada, desarrolló un taller de creación audiovisual para niños problemáticos, con quienes trabajó durante un tiempo con cámaras de 16mm. y revelando las películas al modo tradicional. Todos vós sodes capitáns nacedurante dicho período y recoge su trabajo con los pequeños, a quienes Oliver acompaña mientras filman todo aquello que les llama la atención. Pero, en un momento dado, los poco ortodoxos métodos de aprendizaje empleados hacen que su relación conlosniños se tambalee hasta desintegrarse. El director se ve apartado entonces del taller, de modo que el futuro de las filmaciones quedará completamente a merced de la sola voluntad de los pequeños.

In 2007, filmmaker Oliver Laxe decided to move and live in Morocco while searching for greater communion with life and seeking artistic inspiration in the generosity, sensuality and cruelty of the city of Tangiers. A little after his arrival hedeveloped an audiovisual creation workshop for problematic kids with whom he worked for sometime using 16 mm cameras and developing the films in the traditional manner. Todos vós sodes capitáns, which shows his work with those children, was madeduringsaid period. Oliver accompanied them as they filmed anything that caught their eye but, at a point in time, the unorthodox methods of learning employed threaten his relationship with those children to the point of disintegration. The director isthensidelined from the workshop such that the future of what they have recorded totally remains at the sole will of the kids.
