En Comandante Arian, Alba Sotorra, entra con la cámara en la primera línea de la guerra en Siria para documentar la lucha de las mujeres kurdas del norte del país contra el Dáesh (ISIS) y su revolución feminista en Rojava, siguiendo a Arian, quien forma parte de las YPJ, las Unidades de Defensa de las Mujeres, un cuerpo militar formado exlcusivamente por mujeres en 2012 con el objetivo de protegerse del Dáesh y de transformar la sociedad patriarcal en la que viven.
On the frontline of the Syrian war, a 30-year-old commander leads her female battalion to retake an ISIS-controlled city and emerges severely wounded, forcing her to redefine herself in this empowering tale of emancipation and freedom.
