Ebenezer Scrooge es un ser avaro, egoísta, solitario y adicto al trabajo a quien no le importa nadie más que él mismo, maltratando y humillando a los que le rodean, ya sea su sobrino, su empleado, o quien quiera quesecruce en su camino.La noche anterior a esa Navidad recibe la visita del espíritu de su antiguo socio, Jacob Marley, advirtiéndole de que aún está a tiempo de salvarse del horrible destino que le espera. Para ello, los tres Espíritus de la Navidad, el pasado, elpresenteyel futuro, se le aparecerán en la noche y le conducirán a distintas realidades.
