El pintor José Luis Zumeta trabaja a deshoras en su taller de Arribe, Navarra, en un antiguo garaje de autobuses. En esta ocasión, está trabajando en dos pinturas de tamaño 200×133 que expondrá en el antiguo edificio de bomberos de Donostia/SanSebastián. El proceso de creación de estas obras es la espina dorsal del documental.El pintor muestra, por vez primera, ante una cámara, ese proceso de creación único e interno que le caracteriza. El seguimiento del equipo de grabación es absoluto: comienza con los primeros pasos del artista cuando construye su lienzo, sigue conlacreación de las obras, y termina con la exposición de las mismas.Respetando su horario de trabajo y sus costumbres, el desarrollo de los cuadros sólo se verá interrumpido por decisión del artista; sea por la elección de los materiales o por sus propios bloqueos creativos. En estos intervalos, con objeto decomprenderel presente, se plantean determinadas cuestiones a gente cercana al artista. A través de sus respuestas, vamos conociendo mejor las peculiaridades de Zumeta, las claves de su recorrido artístico, su evolución y en definitiva, todas las piezas quehacende él un gran artista.

Painter José Luis Zumeta works late at night at his studio in Arribe, Navarra, built in an old bus garage. On this occasion, he is working on two paintings of 200 x 133 cm which he will be exhibiting at the old fire station in San Sebastian. Thecreative process for these paintings forms the backbone of this documentary.For the first time on camera the painter shows the unique and intimate way he works. The film coverage is complete, from the very first steps when the painter puts together his canvas, followed by the creation of the painting and ending with theexhibition of the work.The film respects the artist’s working hours and habits, and the creative development of the paintings is only interrupted at the artist’s choosing, either because of his choice of materials or his own creative blockages. During those breaks, inorderto understand the artist’s reality, different questions are put to people close to him; through their answers, we are able to better understand Zumeta’s peculiarities, the milestones of his artistic career, his evolution and, in conclusion, allthepieces that make him a great artist.

Oraingo honetan, 200×133 tamaina izango duten bi margolanekin ari da lanean. Ondoren,Donostiakosuhiltzaileen geltokia izandako eraikinean erakusgai egongo dira lanok. Bi margolan hauen sortze prozesua da dokumental honen bizkarrezurra.Lehenengo aldiz eta kameraren aurrean, bere barneko eta bakarra duen sortze prozesua azalduko du margolariak. Grabazio taldearen jarraipena erabatekoa da: Zumetak mihisea eraikitzen duenean hasten da, obren garapena jarraitzen du eta ondorengoerakusketarekin amaitzen da.Zumetaren lan orduak errespetatuz eta bere ohiturak jarraituz, margolanen eraikitzea artistak nahi duenean bakarrik eteten da: materiala aukeratu behar duenean, adibidez, edo, artistak bere baitan pairatzen dituen blokeo uneak direla medio.
