- EXTENDED SYNOPSIS
In Navarra in the 12th century the way to Santiago is at its peak. Gartxot, a local bard, is sent into exile by the new Abbot of Roncesvalles, who wants to capture the prodigious voice of Gartxot´s son Mikelot and turn him into a singing monk – hewantshim to leave behind his provincial tongue and sing in Latin. Mikelot manages to escape from the monastery and sings once again beside his father. The songs become a symbol of the oppression, but the Church is unwilling to accept this affront andsendsits fearful warrior monks to hunt for the bard. Thus the tragedy begins, and the conquest.
