Los Marisco son los u´ltimos testigos de un tiempo en el que los guardias civiles que no se dejaban sobornar haci´an silbar las balas en este difi´cil valle navarro en la frontera con Francia. Casi todas las familias que alli´ vivi´an se dedicaban al contrabando y los Marisco eran los jefes. Hoy, solo son ganaderos y Juan y Carmen celebran sus bodas de diamante.

The Marisco family are the last witnesses of a time when Civil Guards who refused to be bribed would make bullets whistle in this challenging Navarrese valley on the border with France. Almost all the families living there were involved in smuggling, and the Mariscos were the leaders. Today, they are only livestock farmers, and Juan and Carmen are celebrating their diamond wedding anniversary.
