Arcadio y Clara viven solos en su pequeña casa de un pueblo lleno deveraneantes. Pedro, su único hijo, les dice que estas vacaciones irá a pasaruna semana con ellos, Arcadio comenzará entonces a considerar donde puedeaparcar el coche su hijo porque con los coches de los veraneantes llenando lascalles es imposible aparcar cerca y le cuenta a su mujer lo que ha pensado;cortar el viejo árbol que tienen plantado en la era.

Arcadio and Clara live alone in a small house in a village full of summervisitors. Pedro, their only son, tells them that he’ll go and spend a couple ofweeks with them during the holidays. So Arcadio begins to think about where hisson can park his car because the summer visitors take up all the streets andit’s impossible to park near. He tells his wife what he has decided; to cutdown the old tree which grows in the threshing field.
