Santa Fiesta es una película de creación documental que nos sumerge en el corazón de las fiestas populares con animales. Sin entrevistas ni narrador ni partitura musical, este viaje visual presenta fiestas casi desconocidas hasta ahora y algunos de los festejos más tristemente célebres con un tratamiento cinematográfico ambicioso a la hora de presentar sus hechos. La película denuncia con firmeza la brutalidad y arraigo de tradiciones en las que se tortura a toros con fuego, cuerdas o arrojándolos al agua, pero también decapitando gansos, exponiendo a caballos al fuego, incluso arrojándose ratas muertas. Un festín público de dolor y sangre en el que los curas, los niños, los ancianos, los policías y las autoridades políticas participan sonrientes animando una tradición salvaje que ningún Gobierno se ha atrevido a parar hasta ahora.

Santa Fiesta is a creative documentary where we immerse ourselves into the heart of Spanish popular fiestas where 60,000 animals are tortured and killed for the entertainment of the masses. Filmed secretly over a year, all across the country, this is a visual journey presented without interviews, narration or musical score, revealing celebrations hardly seen before as well as an ambitious cinematic treatment for the factual storyline. This film stands strong against the deeply rooted brutality of traditional festivals which tortures bulls in the streets with fire, tied ropes or water, but also beheads geese, exposes horses to fire or stones doves. A public feast of pain and blood where priests, children, elders, policemen and politicians smile and cheer a tradition that no government dares to stop.
