El Congreso de los Diputados de España condenó en el año 2002 el golpe deEstado de 1936 contra el Gobierno democrático de la República. Habían pasado 28años desde la muerte de Franco y el país había logrado una transición pacíficaa la democracia. Sin embargo, la voz de los vencidos, olvidados y borrados dela geografía española durante cuarenta años de dictadura no ha alcanzado lamemoria colectiva democrática del país. El exilio interior, formado por milesde presos contrarios ideológicamente a la dictadura franquista, comienza en1936 en el devastador conflicto fratricida que fue la Guerra Civil Española yconcluye prácticamente con la muerte del dictador en 1975.

In 2002 the Spanish Chamber of Deputies condemned the 1936 coup d’état againstthe Democratic Government of the Republic. 28 years had gone by since Franco’sdeath and the country had achieved a peaceful transition to democracy. Howeverthe voice of those defeated, forgotten and blotted out from the geography ofSpain during the forty years of the dictatorship, has still not reached thedemocratic collective memory of the country. This documentary rescues thevoices of the prisoners from prisons and concentration camps, who because oftheir ideology, lived through a real interior exile in Franco’s prisons andworked as slaves in the reconstruction of a country which knew nothing of theirsuffering. Even today they all have to fight for their testimony and memoriesto survive.
