Chico y Fuentes son dos amigos que viven de pequeños robos, golpes y de mucho cuento. Aunque Chico se considere un maestro del crimen, casi todos los planos engendrados acaban por fallar. Ambos vivieron la mayor parte de su vida en los EE.UU.Chicoesun inmigrante portugués y Fuentes es español. Como ya están “quemados” en la tierra del Tío Sam, deciden venir a Europa en busca del golpe perfecto. Portugal es el local perfecto debido a las raíces lusas de Chico.Ya en Portugal y después de un nuevo intento fracasado de asalto a la plaza de toros de una pequeña localidad rural, de donde Chico escapa con una oreja cortada, los dos amigos son contactados por un viejo y extraño Mayordomo, Augusto, que loscontratapara que asalten una Finca. Esa Finca pertenece a una condesa, para quien Augusto trabaja hace más de treinta y cinco años.El objetivo del robo es un cuadro de naturalezas muertas - Las Peras de Saint Rémy de Vincent Willem o mejor, de Vincent Van Gogh, valorizado en cinco millones de euros.Esta vez el plan parece perfecto - Chico está seguro de que finalmente va a conseguir alcanzar su gran sueño; dar el último golpe, escribir su nombre en enciclopédia del crimen. Pero el destino tiene otros planes.En la cárcel, Gomes, un peligroso bandido, acaba de ser puesto en libertad después de diez años de pena. Gomes apenas tiene un objetivo: vengarse del viejo Mayordomo, ya que sus hermanos habían sido asesinados y él detenido después de intentarrobar laFinca. Formando un dúo con un individuo conocido como el Cojo, Gomes decide ir a la Finca para cumplir su misión.
