En un pueblecito asturiano -Cenciella-, la enconada lucha entre dos bandospolíticos trae la desgracia a unos seres bondadosos e ingenuos: la parejaformada por Urbano y Estrella. Aunque el secretario del Ayuntamiento es personaliberal e idealista, uno de los grupos políticos que lo consideran del bandoenemigo decide vengarse de su neutralidad violando a su novia el domingoanterior a la boda. En momentos, precisamente, en que el Urbano meditaba sobrealgo que le obsesiona: la luz del domingo es muy distinta a la de los demásdías, en domingo parece que el sol mirara a la tierra cara a cara, en domingoes difícil que no se sienta al prójimo.

In Cenciella, a small village in Asturias, the bitter struggle between twopolitical groups brings misfortune to two kind, naïve people; the couple madeup of Urbano and Estrella.
