Se trata de un largometraje en un formato poco corriente: 2/3 de ficción y 1/3de documental clásico, a modo de notas al pie o “comentarios de texto” sobrelas imágenes cinematográficas. Puede decirse también que es una antología delQuijote en imágenes y una indagación en la biografía de Cervantes a la estelade su famosa criatura literaria.El director ha querido con esta película acercarse respetuosamente a la figuramítica de Don Quijote de la Mancha, para ofrecer, en un lenguaje sencillo, unamirada sobre los valores morales y universales de la magna obra de Cervantes ala luz de nuestro tiempo.

This is a full-length feature film with a rather unusual format as it istwo-thirds fiction and one third classical documentary by way of footnotes or“commentaries on the text” on the filmed images. It could be also said that itis an anthology of the Quixote in pictures and an investigation intoCervantes’s biography in the wake of his famous literary offspring. With thisfilm the director wanted to respectfully draw closer to the mythical figure ofDon Quixote from La Mancha in order to offer a view of the moral and universalvalues of Cervantes’s great work in the light of our times and in simplelanguage.
