- EXTENDED SYNOPSIS
Después de Flamenco en 1995, y Tango en 1998, Carlos Saura completa en 2005, latrilogía de la canción urbana moderna con Fados. Tras más de dos años deinvestigación sobre el Fado,Carlos Saura da un salto importante en su aproximación al musical. Si en losmusicales anteriores, Iberia, Flamenco, Tango..., Carlos Saura se apoyaba en ladanza, en Fados realiza un esfuerzo argumental y de imagen en el que refleja deforma única y original el nacimiento de la música arrabalera, portuaria, que esen sí misma una síntesis de todas las músicas nacidas a fines del XIX.
After “Flamenco” and “Tango”, Carlos Saura completes his trilogy of modern,urban song with “Fados”. After more than two years research on the Fado, CarlosSaura makes an important change in his approach to musical films. In hisprevious musical films Iberia, Flamenco and Tango he used dance but in Fados hehas worked on the argument and images so that they reflect the origins of thisunrefined port music in a unique, original way. This music is in fact, asynthesis of all kinds of music originating in the nineteenth century.
