Basada en la vida del compositor y músico Vicente Martín i Soler, nacido en Valencia en 1754. Su pasión por la música se gestó siendo un niño en Valencia, de la mano de Mosen Pasqual. Alentado por él, a los 18 se mudó a Madrid para vivir de lamúsica;este fue el primer paso de una larga, exitosa y fructífera carrera que le llevó a vivir en Viena, Nápoles, Londres y San Petesburgo. Sus óperas y ballets triunfaron en todas las cortes europeas. Mozart le admiraba por ello. Con él compartió amigoyletrista, Lorenzo Da Ponte. En este contexto, el filme narra la historia de amor de Martín y Soler con Graciela, su amante, con la que nunca llegó a vivir, en gran parte por culpa de la madre de ésta, María Luisa Petralosa, que envidiaba la bellavozdesu hija.Hombre tremendamente sensible, divertido y vividor, se casó con Olivia, con la que tuvo dos hijos. Murió ejerciendo de profesor de música en la ciudad de San Petesburgo donde está enterrado y se conserva gran parte de su obra.

This film is based on the life of the composer and musician Vicente Martín i Soler, born in Valencia in 1754. His passion for music was fostered by Mosen Pasqual when he was a child in Valencia. Encouraged by Mosen, at 18 he moved to Madrid tomakehisliving from music; this was the first step of a long, successful and fruitful career which saw him living in Vienna, Naples, London and Saint Petersburg. His operas and ballets were a great success in all the European courts. Mozart admired himforthisand they shared a friend and lyricist Lorenzo Da Ponte. In this context the film narrates the love affair between Martín y Soler and Graciela, his lover. They never actually lived together partly because of her mother, Maria Luis Petralosa who wasenvious of her daughter’s beautiful voice. An exceptionally sensitive, amusing man and a lover of the good life, he married Olivia with whom he had two children. He died while working as a music teacher in the city of Saint Petersburg where he isburiedand where a large part of his work is conserved.
