Recién cumplida la treintena, Óscar vive solo y trabaja como guarda de seguridad de una salina semi-abandonada. Durante sus turnos suele recibir la visita de Miguel, un antiguo guardia jubilado. Cada día, cuando termina la jornada, Óscar toma elautobúsy vuelve a casa. Lo primero que hace al llegar es mirar el buzón y revisar su contestador, pero nunca hay cartas ni mensajes. O, al menos, no los que él espera. Un día la rutina se rompe. Óscar llega a la residencia de ancianos donde está su únicofamiliar, su abuelo, que padece Alzheimer. Su estado ha empeorado y ha sido ingresado en el hospital. Cuando la directora le cuenta que ha avisado a su hermana, Óscar se queda petrificado; hace dos años que no sabe nada de ella. Dos días despuésMaríaaparece acompañada de su novio, Jean. La relación entre los dos hermanos parece tensa, algo ocurrió en el pasado que los ha marcado de forma definitiva.

Oscar is thirty years old, lives alone and works as a security guard at a semi-abandoned salt mine. He is often visited when on duty by Miguel, a retired security guard. At the end of each work-day, Oscar takes the bus home. The first thing hedoesuponarrival is check the post-box and then the answering machine, but there are never letters or messages, or at least not what he expects. One day the routine is broken. Oscar visits the residential home for the elderly where the only other member ofhisfamily, his grandfather, with Alzheimer, lives. His disease has grown worse and he has been admitted to hospital. When the director tells him that she has informed his sister, Oscar is petrified: he has not heard from her for two years. Two dayslater,Maria appears with her boyfriend, Jean. The relationship between the two siblings appears tense, something occurred years ago which left a definite mark on them.
