- EXTENDED SYNOPSIS
El 1º de abril de 1939, con la entrada en Madrid de las tropas de Franco,termina la Guerra civil española. Temiendo la sangrienta represión que seavecinaba, muchos republicanos huyen del país pero otros no pueden o noquieren. Como las trece muchachas, casi todas menores de edad, protagonistas deesta historia real, que fueron fusiladas el 5 de agosto de 1939 en las tapiasdel cementerio de la Almudena de Madrid.
On 1 April 1939, the Spanish Civil War ended when Franco’s troops enteredMadrid. Fearing the blooding repression that was looming, many republicans fledthe country but others couldn’t or didn’t want to. This was the case of thethirteen girls, all under legal age, who are the main characters in this truestory. They were shot on 5 August 1939 against the walls of the Almudenacemetery in Madrid.
