El control policial y cierre de algunos pasos de la frontera pirenaico-atlántica natural del Bidasoa que impuso Francia en verano del 2018, para evitar la entrada de los inmigrantes en tránsito hacia el resto de países europeos, provocó 10 muertes en un año. Siete personas fallecieron desde abril de 2021 ahogadas en las aguas del río Bidasoa entre Irun y Hendaia, y otras tres perdieron la vida en octubre de 2021 arrolladas por un tren en Ziburu.
Este documental, además de dar voz y poner rostro a varias de las activistas a un lado y otro del río, como representantes de las asociaciones Harrera Sarea (Red de acogida) y Bidasoa Etorkinekin (El Bidasoa con los inmigrantes), también recuerda a aquellos que perdieron su vida, poniendo nombre, edad, travesía y sueños, conociendo la historia y las personas que se esconden tras las frías cifras de fallecidos, humanizando de esta manera la tragedia. Police control and the closure of certain crossings on the Bidasoa river, natural border of the Pyrenées-Atlantiques Department, imposed by France in summer 2018 to prevent the entrance of immigrants on their way to other European countries, caused 10 deaths in a single year. Seven people died from April 2021, drowned in the waters of the River Bidasoa between Irun and Hendaia, while another three lost their lives in October 2021, hit by a train in Ziburu.
This documentary, as well as putting a voice and face to several of the activists who work on either side of the river, as representatives of the Harrera Sarea (Reception Network) and Bidasoa Etorkinekin (The Bidasoa with Migrants) associations, also recalls those who lost their lives, giving them a name and an age, following their journey and their dreams, discovering the history and the people behind the cold figures of the deceased, giving the tragedy a more human aspect. (Euskara) 2018ko udan Frantziak ezarri zituen Pirinio-Atlantikoko Bidasoako muga naturalaren pasagune batzuen kontrola eta itxierak, Europako gainontzeko herrialdeetara igarotzeko etorkinen sarrera eragozteko, 10 hildako eragin zituen urtebetean. Zazpi pertsona hil dira 2021eko apiriletik Irun eta Hendaia arteko Bidasoa ibaiko uretan itota, eta beste hiruk bizia galdu zuten 2021eko urrian, Ziburun tren batek harrapatuta. (English) The police control and closure of some crossings of the Pyrenean-Atlantic natural border of Bidasoa that France imposed in the summer of 2018, to prevent the entry of immigrants in transit to the rest of the European countries, caused 10 deaths in one year. Seven people have died since April 2021 by drowning in the waters of the Bidasoa river between Irun and Hendaye, and another three lost their lives in October 2021 when they were run over by a train in Ziburu.
This documentary, in addition to giving voice and face to several of the activists on both sides of the river, as representatives of the associations Harrera Sarea (Reception Network) and Bidasoa Etorkinekin (Bidasoa with migrants), also remembers those who lost their lives, giving their name, age, journey and dreams, knowing the history and the people behind the cold numbers of deaths, thus humanizing the tragedy. (Français) Le contrôle policier et la fermeture de certains points de passage de la frontière naturelle pyrénéo-atlantique du fleuve Bidassoa que la France a imposés à l'été 2018, pour empêcher l´entrée d´immigrants en transit vers le reste des pays européens, ont fait 10 morts en un an. Sept personnes sont mortes depuis avril 2021 par noyade dans les eaux de la rivière Bidassoa entre Irun et Hendaye, et trois autres ont perdu la vie en octobre 2021 lorsqu´elles ont été renversées par un train à Ziburu.
Ce documentaire, en plus de donner la parole et le visage à plusieurs militants des deux côtés du fleuve, en tant que représentants des associations Harrera Sarea (Réseau d´accueil) et Bidasoa Etorkinekin (Bidassoa avec les migrants), se souvient aussi de ceux qui ont perdu la vie, Donner leur nom, leur âge, leur parcours et leurs rêves, connaître l´histoire et les personnes derrière le nombre froid de morts, humanisant ainsi la tragédie.
