- SINOPSIS EXTENDIDA DE LA PELÍCULA
Atraído por su hechizo, Fermin Muguruza se ha ido a The Big Easy para grabar un disco, “Irun Meets New Orleans” -donde adapta a los sonidos neorleanos ocho canciones de su carrera e interpreta dos clásicos de la ciudad-, y realizar un documental, “NOLA?”, sobre la situación diez años después del Katrina. Todo ello, rodeado por la crema de la escena local: desde la histórica Preservation Hall Jazz Band hasta la rapera de bounce Katey Red, junto a colaboradores de Galactic, Dr. John y Trombone Shorty.
NOLA? shows the recording process of 10 tracks by Fermin Muguruza´s career in New Orleans and the situation ten years after Katrina. NOLA? has many parallels with an episode of “Treme”: the songs are very well integrated, related to what the protagonists talk about. Music converts itself, in that way, into another character in the narration. The central thread is WWOZ announcer George Ingmire, also a documentary maker and author of various radio essays about the impact of the hurricane. With his critical and ironic speech he alternates the recording of the album with observations about the state of things.
