Contar historias en Irlanda proviene de una antigua tradición oral de trasmitir leyes y tabúes, épicas heroicas, cuentos de sabiduría y mitos culturales de generación en generación. El don del contador de historias transporta a la audiencia a diferentes mundos mediante el poder de la palabra hablada. Sin embargo, el arte popular de contar historias está luchando por mantenerse vivo como forma de entretenimiento, educación, e instrucción moral. Esta película trata de descubrir la esencia de esta tradición ancestral.

Storytelling in Ireland stems from an ancient oral tradition of transmitting laws and taboos, hero epics, wisdom tales and cultural myths from generation to generation. The storyteller´s gift transports the audience to different worlds by the sole power of the spoken word. Nevertheless, as a form of entertainment, education and moral instruction, the folk art of storytelling is struggling to hold its own. This documentary tries to discover the very essence of this ancient art.
