Josu Jon –un apuesto mozo de aspecto noble- ha sido herido en un duroenfrentamiento con la guardia civil. Y ha perdido la memoria. Es tratado en unhospital penitenciario, a la espera de lo que decida el juez y la autoridadcompetente. Él no sabe muy bien quién es, por lo que las monjas que lo atiendenle enseñan a rezar y a ser un buen cristiano . Pero otros internos –de la mismaorganización que él mismo- le ayudan a recordar que él es, en realidad, unvaliente gudari, y que pronto podrá reincorporarse a la lucha, si es queconsigue salir de la cárcel. Mientras tanto, los sucesos siguen su curso en elPaís Vasco (en alguna época indeterminada de los años 90). Un profesor deUniversidad, Xabier, es amenazado por sus opiniones muy críticas sobre lasituación de Euskadi. Su novia, una de sus alumnas, Francesca, es una italianaque ejerce de psicóloga en el mismo centro psiquiátrico donde se supervisan losprogresos de Josu Jon.

Josu Jon, an attractive lad with a noble look, has been injured in a hard clashwith the Civil Guard and he has lost his memory. He is treated in a prisonhospital while he is waiting to see what the judge and the competent authoritydecide. He is not very sure who he is so the nuns who are looking after himteach him to pray and be a good Christian. But other inmates, from the sameorganization as him, help him to remember that he is, in fact, a brave “gudari”,and that he will soon be returning to the struggle if he manages to get out ofprison. In the meantime, events follow their course in the Basque Country (atan undetermined time in the nineties). A university professor Xabier, isthreatened for his opinions which are very critical of the situation in Euskadi(the Basque Country). An Italian girl, Francesca, his girlfriend and one of hisstudents works as a psychologist in the same psychiatric centre where they aresupervising Josu Jon’s progress.
